- Arrive and depart either Mexico City or Veracruz. 8 Day Itinerary:
Mexico City or Veracruz (1 nt.), Tlapacoyan, Ver. (1 nt.), campsite on Rio
Filobobos (1 nt.), Picocanoa Jungle Lodge, Ver. (4 nts.). Optional extensions:
Veracruz or Mexico City. Highlights: rafting the Filo-Bobos (steady
Class III with Class IV Aug-Nov); lush jungle scenery; explore the recently
discovered Totonaca-Huasteca site of El Cuajilote, a fertility ceremonial
site; the hidden waterfall El Salto del Encanto; good food outdoors and

- Arrive and depart from El Paso or Chihuahua. 10 Day Itinerary:
Chihuahua (1 nt.), Creel (1 nt.), High camp (1 nt.), Urique Canyon camp
(3 nts.), High camp (1 nt.), Creel (1 nt.), Chihuahua (1 nt.). Optional
extensions: Instead of returning to Chihuahua, take the train to Los
Mochis (1 nt.). Or, drop into the 5,000 ft. Batopilas canyon by van to the
unusual Copper Canyon Riverside Lodge (3 nts.) for 2 days of exploring,
